Integrated Perinatal Mental Health System

Medway Council is inviting quotations for the provision of an Integrated Perinatal Mental Health System to deliver a coordinated approach to preventing, identifying, and treating perinatal mental health (PMH) problems across Medway.

The contract is for a single provider to deliver an integrated system that supports both birthing and non-birthing parents. The Council aims to establish a cohesive and joined-up perinatal mental health pathway across maternity services, primary care, mental health services, social care, and the voluntary and community sector. The service is intended to ensure that women and families receive timely, equitable, and evidence-based support throughout the perinatal period.

The contract has an estimated value of £490,000 excluding VAT and is expected to commence on 1 November 2026, running until 30 April 2029. The Council has included the option to extend the contract for a further 12 months, subject to its requirements.

Service Overview

The successful provider will deliver an integrated perinatal mental health system designed to prevent, detect, and treat perinatal mental health problems while supporting both birthing and non-birthing parents. The service will bring together maternity, primary care, mental health, social care, and voluntary and community sector organisations to provide coordinated and evidence-based support for women and families across Medway.

The opportunity is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs). The procurement will be undertaken through a below-threshold open competition under the Light Touch Regime.
