Custody Based Youth Work Supporting Young People Aged 18-25

The Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime (MOPAC) has launched a procurement for the delivery of a Custody Based Youth Work Supporting Young People Aged 18-25 service across London. The contract forms part of the Violence Reduction Unit’s public health approach to reducing violence by engaging young adults at a critical point of contact within police custody.

The service will provide trauma-informed and relationship-based support for young adults aged 18 to 25, helping them address unmet needs, build resilience and achieve positive outcomes. Through trusted relationships, practical assistance and access to appropriate services and opportunities, the programme aims to improve stability, mental health and wellbeing while supporting progression into education, training and employment where appropriate.

The service is intended to help young adults navigate the transition into adulthood, reduce vulnerability to violence, exploitation and offending, and improve longer-term life chances.
