Mitie Secures £99m Ambulance Make Ready Contract for SECAmb and SCAS

Mitie Awarded Ambulance Make Ready Contract

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, acting on behalf of both South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, has awarded a contract to Mitie Cleaning and Environmental Services Ltd to provide ambulance make ready and transportation services.

The contract has a value of £98,953,036 excluding VAT (£118,743,643 including VAT) and was awarded following a competitive flexible procedure.

The service will provide comprehensive make ready and transportation services, ensuring operational vehicles are cleaned and equipped to the required standards within agreed timescales. The contract also includes transport solutions to support operational requirements, fleet maintenance, operations and make ready services.

Contract Details

The contract is expected to commence on 4 July 2026 and run until 30 September 2029.

The agreement includes two optional two-year extensions. It also provides the option to extend the contract beyond the initial three-year period and to increase or decrease the number of sites during the life of the contract, depending on business needs.

Competition

Three tenders were received and assessed during the final stage of the procurement.

Mitie Cleaning and Environmental Services Ltd was selected as the successful supplier.

Buyer

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust acted as the contact organisation for the procurement on behalf of both South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
