Dove House Hospice Awarded £102k Hull Life-Limiting Conditions Support Contract

Kingston Upon Hull City Council has awarded Dove House Hospice Limited a £102,585 contract to provide support for people with life-limiting conditions.

The service will support individuals with palliative and end-of-life care needs and their carers, with a focus on improving quality of life. Provision will include therapeutic support such as Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy to help people manage symptoms and maintain their independence for as long as possible.

Service users will also have access to emotional and practical support from social workers, including help with concerns relating to finances, housing and future planning.

Specialist medical support will be provided by experienced palliative care professionals, offering access to expert advice, symptom management, advance care planning and signposting without the need for appointments or lengthy waiting times.

The service will also provide regular social activities tailored to the wishes and needs of patients and carers, with the aim of supporting mental wellbeing, reducing social isolation and encouraging peer relationships. Optional access to specialist bathing facilities will also be available for users who do not have suitable facilities at home.

Dove House Hospice Limited has been awarded the contract through the Most Suitable Provider process under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. Hull City Council stated that it was able to identify the most suitable provider without running a competitive exercise.

The contract is valued at £102,585 excluding VAT and was concluded on 14 August 2026. The contract is not divided into lots and no options are included.

Dove House Hospice Limited is based in Hull and is not identified as an SME.
