Buckland Care Awarded Gloucestershire Pathway 2 Nursing Beds Contract

Gloucestershire County Council has awarded a contract to Buckland Care Limited to provide Pathway 2 nursing care beds within Gloucester, supporting people who no longer require acute hospital care but need short-term nursing support before returning home.

The service will provide up to 20 beds in a CQC-registered nursing care home, helping to facilitate timely hospital discharge through outcome-focused nursing care. The provision also includes strong clinical oversight, multidisciplinary working, access to occupational therapy and/or physiotherapy, and dedicated GP support.

Contract Details

The contract has a value of £1,241,000 excluding VAT.

The initial contract term is scheduled to run from 8 July 2026 to 30 June 2028, with the option to extend through to 30 June 2030 via two one-year extensions, subject to approval.

The award decision was made on 24 June 2026, with assessment summaries issued to tenderers on the same day. The earliest contract signature date is 7 July 2026.

The procurement was conducted through an Open Procedure under the Light Touch Regime. One tender was received and assessed in the final stage, with Buckland Care Limited awarded the contract.
