East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) is seeking private ambulance providers to supply additional emergency ambulance capacity across the East Midlands.

The requirement covers double-crewed ambulances operating under blue-light conditions, with crews comprising a mix of Paramedics, Technicians and Emergency Care Assistants.

Lots Available

• Lot 1 – South Lincolnshire
• Lot 2 – Leicestershire
• Lot 3 – Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire
• Lot 4 – Northamptonshire

Providers may bid for one or more geographical lots where they can deliver the required service.

Evaluation Criteria

EMAS will assess bids against the five Provider Selection Regime criteria:

• Quality and Innovation – 22%
• Value – 40%
• Integration, Collaboration and Service Sustainability – 15%
• Improving Access, Reducing Health Inequalities and Facilitating Choice – 13%
• Social Value – 10%

CQC Requirements

Providers must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and hold all relevant licences required to deliver the ambulance services.

The opportunity provides a route for suitably registered independent ambulance providers to support EMAS with additional emergency ambulance resources across several areas of the East Midlands.
