Sheffield City Council is seeking a provider to deliver the Sheffield Dementia Advice Service, a citywide, non-clinical service providing a single point of access for dementia information, advice and guidance.
The service will support people living with dementia alongside their families, unpaid carers and supporters through information, signposting, navigation and referrals into community-based dementia support.
The successful provider will also provide advice, guidance and training to professionals and volunteers, helping to improve dementia awareness and build confidence in supporting people affected by dementia.
The service will contribute to the Council’s aims around prevention, independence and wellbeing while supporting the development of dementia-friendly communities across Sheffield.
The opportunity has an estimated value of £502,000 excluding VAT and is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs).

Any extension will depend on continued demand for the service, acceptable provider performance and the availability of budget.

The contract will be awarded to the highest-scoring bidder on the basis of the most advantageous tender.
The opportunity is being procured through a below-threshold open competition under the light touch regime.
The contract provides an opportunity for organisations experienced in dementia information, advice and community-based support to deliver a citywide service supporting people living with dementia, their families, unpaid carers and the wider professional and volunteer workforce across Sheffield.
