Care Support Awarded Wandsworth Extra Care Housing Contract for Alder House

The London Borough of Wandsworth has awarded a contract to Care-Away Limited (trading as Care Support) for the provision of 24/7 care and support services at Alder House Extra Care Housing in Roehampton.

The contract has a value of £3,167,236 and has been awarded through a direct award under the Light Touch Regime.

The agreement is expected to commence on 6 July 2026 and run until 5 July 2029, with the option to extend for a further 12 months, potentially taking the contract through to 5 July 2030.

The service will provide flexible, needs-based care and support for adults aged 55 and over, enabling residents to live independently in line with the Care Act 2014. The provision will deliver round-the-clock care within the Alder House Extra Care Housing scheme on Alton Road, Roehampton.

According to the award notice, the direct award follows a competitive procurement exercise undertaken in 2021–2022, through which the provider was originally identified for the scheme. As the development has only recently become ready for occupation, the Council stated that awarding the contract to the originally appointed provider will enable timely mobilisation of services, support continuity with the original competition and avoid delays to residents moving into the scheme. The authority also confirmed that a separate procurement process will be undertaken for longer-term provision.

The earliest contract signature date was scheduled for 30 June 2026.
