BBC Extends Access and Disability Services Contract with Medigold Health

The BBC has awarded a £700,000 contract to Medigold Health Consultancy Limited for the continued delivery of workplace access and disability support services across the organisation.

The contract covers the provision of specialist Access & Disability Services, which help the BBC identify, assess and implement reasonable workplace adjustments for disabled colleagues. The service includes workplace assessments, adjustment recommendations, specialist advice, communication support services and the administration of Access to Work funding.

The agreement runs from 7 July 2026 until 30 June 2027 and has been awarded through a direct award under the Light Touch Regime.

According to the BBC, the direct award was made on the grounds of technical reasons and extreme and unavoidable urgency to ensure continuity of a service relied upon by colleagues across the organisation. The broadcaster said maintaining uninterrupted access to workplace adjustment advice and support is important in meeting its responsibilities under equality legislation and supporting an accessible working environment.

The BBC said the 12-month arrangement will provide time to review future requirements, engage with the market and develop a longer-term sourcing strategy, which may include a full re-procurement of the service.
