Starting a new role in health and social care is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. There are new responsibilities, new colleagues and, most importantly, the privilege of supporting people who rely on compassionate, high-quality care every day.

No amount of training can cover every situation, which is why the best advice often comes from those with first-hand experience. A few words of encouragement or practical wisdom can make all the difference to someone just beginning their journey.

What do you think every new member of staff should know before they start working in health or social care?
