University of Portsmouth Awards Non-Medical Help Services Contract to Amano Technologies

The University of Portsmouth has awarded a contract to Amano Technologies Limited for the provision of non-medical help services to support students requiring assistance through the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) programme.

The university sought a Department for Education registered provider with the capacity, expertise and flexibility to deliver all four bands of non-medical help provision as defined in national DSA guidance. The contract will enable the university to maintain high standards of student support, meet its statutory responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010, and ensure students receive the assistance needed to participate effectively in their studies.

The contract has a value of £624,000 including VAT and is expected to commence on 13 July 2026, running until 30 June 2029. The agreement includes an option to extend for a further 12 months, potentially taking the contract through to 30 June 2030.

The contract was awarded following a below-threshold open competition under the light touch regime. Five tenders were received, with four progressing to the final assessment stage. Amano Technologies Limited was selected as the successful supplier.
