UCLH and RNOH Award £85.2 Million Non-Emergency Patient Transport Contract

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) have awarded a contract for Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services to HATS Group Limited.

The contract, covering Lot 1 – Core Patient Transport Services including HDU, has a value of £85.2 million excluding VAT (£102.24 million including VAT) and was awarded following a competitive flexible procedure.

The service will provide core patient transport services, including High Dependency Unit (HDU) transport, across both NHS trusts. The contract also includes a Booking and Assessment Service for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

The agreement is expected to commence on 1 June 2027 and run until 31 May 2033.

The contract includes an optional 36-month extension, which could extend the agreement until 31 May 2036.

The award decision was made on 3 July 2026, with the earliest contract signature date scheduled for 30 September 2026following the standstill period.
