Assist Care Group – Surrey has been rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an inspection in August 2026.
The home care agency supports adults of all ages in their own homes, including people living with dementia, physical or sensory impairments, autism and learning disabilities. At the time of the inspection, 37 people were receiving support from the service.
CQC upgraded the service’s ratings for caring and well-led from good to outstanding, while safe, effective and responsive remained rated good.
Inspectors found that the service provided compassionate, personalised care focused on people’s individual needs and preferences. People were treated with dignity, and staff responded promptly when their health or support requirements changed.
The inspection highlighted examples of staff providing reassurance during a medical emergency and arranging care for someone returning home from hospital late at night to ensure they were safe and comfortable.
CQC also found that staff felt supported by leaders, contributing to high retention rates. The average length of service was seven years, helping people receive consistent care from staff who knew them well.
The agency had safeguarding procedures in place and provided staff with access to a support team while working in the community. Inspectors also found that leaders monitored service performance and worked with staff to address safety concerns, including an increase in reported falls.
CQC’s deputy director for adult social care in Surrey, Amy Jupp, highlighted the service’s emphasis on individualised care, staff support and responding quickly to changes in people’s needs. She said the findings demonstrated a high standard of care in a home care setting.
