A home care provider in Southwest London has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission for the second consecutive time, reinforcing its position as one of the highest-performing services in the sector.

Care Quality Commission confirmed that Trinity Homecare (Worcester Park) retained its top rating following a recent inspection, highlighting continued excellence in care delivery and leadership.

Consistency at the Highest Level

The service provides both visiting and live-in care and was supporting over 200 people at the time of inspection.

CQC found that performance had not only been maintained but strengthened, with ratings improving in key areas:

  • Outstanding for effective and caring (improved from Good)
  • Outstanding for responsive and well-led (maintained)
  • Good for safe care (maintained)

Maintaining — and in some areas improving — an Outstanding rating over time is a significant achievement in a sector where consistency is often one of the biggest challenges.

Personalised Care at the Core

Inspectors highlighted a highly personalised approach to care delivery.

Staff were found to:

  • Know people exceptionally well
  • Deliver care tailored to individual needs and preferences
  • Go beyond standard expectations to support wellbeing

CQC noted that care was delivered with kindness, compassion, and a deep understanding of each individual, contributing to strong outcomes for those receiving support.

Leadership Driving Sustained Quality

A key theme throughout the inspection was the role of leadership in maintaining high standards.

The service demonstrated:

  • Strong, visible leadership
  • A culture focused on continuous improvement
  • High levels of staff engagement and pride

This leadership approach has enabled the organisation to not only achieve Outstanding previously — but to sustain it over time, which remains rare across the sector.

Why This Matters

Achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating is rare. Maintaining it is even rarer.

Only a small proportion of services reach this level, with around 3.5% of care homes in England rated Outstanding overall.  For providers, this latest inspection reinforces an important message – Outstanding is not a one-off achievement — it is built through consistency, culture, and leadership over time.

The Bigger Picture

This result reflects a broader trend seen across high-performing services:

Providers that:

  • Invest in their teams
  • Prioritise continuity of care
  • Build strong relationships with those they support

are not only achieving strong inspection outcomes — but sustaining them.

Looking Ahead

As expectations across the sector continue to rise, maintaining quality over time is becoming just as important as achieving it initially.

For providers aiming to reach — and retain — Outstanding ratings, the focus is shifting towards:

  • Long-term culture
  • Leadership visibility
  • Consistency in delivery

Sustained excellence is becoming the true benchmark.

And this latest inspection highlights what it takes not just to reach the top — but to stay there.
