Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Awarded National Paediatric Diabetes Audit Contract

Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership Ltd (HQIP) has awarded the contract for the National Paediatric Diabetes Audit (NPDA) to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

The contract has a value of £5,313,917 excluding VAT (£6,376,700 including VAT) and was awarded following an open procurement process.

The agreement is expected to commence on 30 April 2027 and run until 1 April 2030, with the option to extend for up to 24 months, potentially taking the contract through to 31 March 2032.

The NPDA supports healthcare improvement by measuring variations in the quality, experience and outcomes of care provided to children and young people receiving paediatric diabetes services across NHS-funded care in England and Wales, and publicly funded care in Jersey.

During the contract, the audit will continue to benchmark performance against national standards, provide quarterly interactive metric results, publish annual reports and quality improvement resources, identify outliers, and support improvements in care through clinically led analysis and engagement with healthcare providers, patients and carers.

The procurement received one tender, which was assessed at the final stage, with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health selected as the successful supplier.

The award decision was made on 8 July 2026, with the earliest contract signature date scheduled for 30 September 2026.
