Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a provider to deliver a specialist accommodation and tenancy support service for women and children who require a safe place to live following domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.

The service will provide five units of direct-access temporary accommodation at a confidential location in the Vale of Glamorgan, alongside flexible housing-related support designed to help women develop the skills, confidence and capacity required to live independently.

The contract has an estimated value of £1.885 million and will run for an initial three years, with two potential 12-month extensions.

Service Requirements

The successful provider will be responsible for delivering safe and secure temporary accommodation for a maximum of five victims and their children at any one time.

Support must be flexible and tailored to individual circumstances, with each service user receiving a personalised support plan addressing both practical and emotional needs.

The service will focus on helping individuals develop their ability to live independently within the community. Support will include information and assistance intended to help women gain or maintain the skills and confidence required for independent living.

The accommodation will operate on a direct-access basis for women and children affected by domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.

Male children accompanying a victim who are over the age of 16 cannot be accepted into the accommodation.
