Vasectomy Service for NHS Black Country ICB

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit, on behalf of NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board, is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced provider to deliver a community-based vasectomy service across the Black Country.

The successful provider will be required to deliver high-quality and safe vasectomy procedures in a primary care setting for eligible adult males requesting the service, in accordance with Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) guidance.

Service Overview

The contract covers the provision of a vasectomy service using either a one-stage or two-stage, no-scalpel or scalpel technique under local anaesthetic.

The successful provider will be expected to:

  • Deliver procedures in accordance with Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) guidelines.
  • Provide the service within a primary care setting.
  • Deliver services for adult males who request the procedure, are of sound mind and are not acting under duress.
  • Maintain a high-quality and safe service throughout the contract period.

Buyer: NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board

Deadline: 11 September 2026 – 5:00pm

Contract Value: £1,623,000 (excluding VAT)

Delivery Length: Initial two-year contract with the option to extend for up to a further two years, giving a maximum contract term of 48 months.

The procurement will be conducted using an Open Procedure.

This procurement is being undertaken under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 (PSR). The notice confirms that the Procurement Act 2023 does not apply to this contract.
