Derby City Council is seeking a provider to deliver an independent Children’s Rights Service, providing advocacy, representation and Independent Visitor services for children and young people across the city.
According to the procurement documents, the service will support children and young people who are looked after, leaving care, privately fostered, have disabilities, or require advocacy in relation to Child Protection Conferences. The service is required to be flexible, child-centred and delivered in accordance with statutory duties, including the Children Act 1989 and the Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010.
The successful provider will be expected to support a minimum of 40 children and young people at any one time and provide representatives for at least 50 Child Protection or ACYP meetings each year.
The Council notes that this procurement is being undertaken within the context of the ongoing Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). The estimated contract value includes provision for potential future changes in service scope or demand during the life of the contract, although these do not represent committed expenditure.
