Targeted Prostate Cancer Screening Programme – MRI Reporting Service

NHS England is inviting tenders for a national prostate MRI reporting service, with an estimated contract value of £143,654.56 excluding VAT.

The service will support the Targeted Prostate Cancer Screening Programme for men at increased risk due to an inherited BRCA2 genetic variant.

The successful provider will deliver:

• Specialist reporting of prostate MRI examinations following elevated PSA results.
• Double reading of MRI images by qualified specialists.
• Expert arbitration and lesion identification where required.
• Structured clinical reports and secure transmission of results.
• Quality assurance, clinical escalation and failsafe procedures.
• Programme reporting, audit and clinical governance support.

MRI scanning, PSA testing, biopsies and urology treatment are excluded from the contract.

The quality assessment covers specialist reporting capability, workforce competence, digital interoperability, clinical governance and service resilience.

Supplier Requirements

Providers must demonstrate access to suitably qualified specialist MRI reporting professionals, appropriate clinical quality assurance arrangements and secure image and data management systems.

Applicants must pass the initial compliance and basic selection checks before progressing to the scored evaluation.

The procurement is being conducted under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) 2023.
