Recruitment
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust has officially welcomed Paul Calaminus as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Paul brings extensive leadership experience in mental health services, most recently serving as Chief Executive of North East London NHS Foundation Trust. He has built a strong reputation for improving services, supporting staff and championing high-quality care for patients and local communities.
The appointment also marks a return to the Trust, where Paul previously held several senior leadership positions between 2000 and 2013. His previous experience with South London and Maudsley gives him a detailed understanding of the organisation, its services and the communities it serves.
The Trust said Paul’s commitment to quality, partnership working and collaborative leadership stood out throughout the recruitment process. He is expected to spend time across services in the coming months, meeting colleagues, service users, carers and partner organisations while shaping the Trust’s future direction.
The Board also thanked Interim Chief Executive Ade Odunlade for his leadership during the transition period. Ade will continue in his substantive role as Chief Operating Officer, where he will remain a key part of the Trust’s executive leadership team.
