Residential and Nursing Accredited List

Herefordshire Council, in conjunction with the local Clinical Commissioning Group, is seeking to establish an accredited list of residential and nursing care providers to deliver care and support services for elderly adults and working-age adults with disabilities across the county.

The accredited list will cover a range of residential and nursing services, including placements funded through Continuing Healthcare and Section 117 placements made under the Mental Health Act 1983.

According to the Council, the service is intended to support individuals to maintain their independence wherever possible, while also promoting wellbeing and supporting the achievement of personalised outcomes.

The specification also highlights the need for providers to support both long-term care requirements and shorter-term care and support needs.

Lots Available

The opportunity has been divided into the following lots:

• Residential Care
• Nursing Care
• Dual Registration

CQC Requirements

Providers must ensure that care homes remain registered in accordance with relevant legislation, including:

• The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014
• The Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009

The Council stated that services must be registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission or the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW), where applicable.

Successful providers appointed onto the accredited list will be expected to support the delivery of the following outcomes:

• Delivering person-centred care that supports independence and wellbeing
• Supporting people to maintain personal choice in everyday life
• Delivering safe and effective care while maintaining quality as a priority
• Delivering care through strong professional partnerships and effective leadership
