Public Health Nursing Services for Children and Young People aged 0 to 19 (or up to the age of 25 for care leavers and those with special educational needs and disabilities – SEND)

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a provider to deliver Public Health Nursing Services for children and young people aged 0 to 19, extending to age 25 for care leavers and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The contract will deliver the Healthy Child Programme, the national model through which Public Health Nursing services are provided. The programme is designed to improve health outcomes for children, young people and families through early intervention, prevention and ongoing health support.

According to the Council, the Healthy Child Programme aims to:

• Ensure a healthy start to life.
• Identify and address health needs at an early stage.
• Prevent health problems.
• Support school readiness and learning.
• Protect children and families.
• Promote health equity.

The service will support children and young people from birth through adolescence, with extended provision for eligible care leavers and young people with SEND up to the age of 25.

• Quality – 70%
• Price – 30%

The Council has confirmed that the procurement will be conducted using a Competitive Flexible Procedure comprising five stages, with full details set out in the tender documentation.

Procurement Process

The procurement is being undertaken under the light touch regime using a Competitive Flexible Procedure.

Interested providers will be required to submit a request to participate before the published deadline, with the five-stage procurement process explained within the tendering pack.
