Physiotherapy Services

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is inviting suitably qualified and experienced providers to tender for the provision of Physiotherapy Services in support of the Council’s in-house Occupational Health Unit.

The successful provider will work alongside the Council’s Occupational Health team, which includes an Occupational Health Physician, Occupational Health Nurse Advisors, a Physiotherapist and a Business Support Team. The service supports approximately 10,000 individuals employed across the Council and a range of public sector partners, covering manual, technical and administrative roles.

The appointed provider may also be required to deliver physiotherapy services to other local authorities or schools under the terms of the contract.

Buyer – Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council

Deadline – 24 August 2026, 3:00pm

Contract Value – £240,000 excluding VAT (£288,000 including VAT)

Delivery Length – 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2028, with the option to extend for a further 12 months until 31 October 2029, subject to satisfactory performance

Service Overview

The successful provider will:

  • Deliver physiotherapy services in accordance with the specification.
  • Work in partnership with the Council’s Occupational Health Unit.
  • Support approximately 10,000 employees and public sector partner staff across a wide range of occupational roles.
  • Be capable of providing services to other local authorities or schools where required under the contract.

Evaluation Criteria

Tenders will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Price – 60%
  • Quality – 40%
