Overnight Short Break Respite and Residential Accommodation and Support for Disabled/SEND Children

Swindon Borough Council has published a tender for the provision of overnight short break respite and residential accommodation and support for disabled children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The opportunity seeks a provider to deliver overnight short breaks for families alongside residential care for children and young people with complex needs within the boundaries of Swindon.

The Council states that it has a statutory duty to provide overnight short breaks and residential services for eligible children and young people. The successful provider will deliver both respite and complex needs residential accommodation from a service located within Swindon.

The contract will commence on 9 September 2026 with an initial term of 12 months. The Council has included the option to extend the agreement by two further periods of 24 months, creating a potential total contract length of five years.

The estimated contract value is approximately £1.4 million during the initial contract period, with a potential total value of £7 million over the full five-year term if all extensions are exercised.

Suppliers wishing to participate must register on the ProContract portal before expressing an interest and accessing the procurement documents. Clarification questions must be submitted through the portal messaging facility before the published deadline.
