Emergency And Urgent Care Private Ambulance Services

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) is seeking providers to deliver private ambulance services supporting emergency and urgent care activity across Buckinghamshire and/or Berkshire.

Providers will be required to demonstrate that they have sufficient capacity to mobilise and meet the service requirements from the planned contract start date of 1 October 2026.

While services will principally operate within Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, providers may occasionally be required to travel outside their normal operating boundaries during a shift to facilitate patient transportation and respond to the Head Provider’s demand.

Service Requirements

The procurement comprises one service requirement covering Buckinghamshire or Berkshire.

  • Total weekly staff hours – 399
  • Activity blocks required – 1
  • Required shift pattern – A
  • Service start date – 1 October 2026
  • Initial service end date – 31 January 2027

The contract may subsequently be extended by up to four additional periods of one month each.
