Educational Psychology Support Services

Wirral Council has launched a procurement for Educational Psychology Support Services to supplement the Council’s existing Educational Psychology (EP) Service. The successful provider will deliver additional educational psychologists to support the statutory psychological advice required for children and young people undergoing the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process.

The contract is intended to strengthen the Council’s core Educational Psychology team by providing additional specialist capacity to meet statutory responsibilities associated with Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments.

The procurement covers the provision of qualified educational psychologists who can deliver the statutory psychological advice required as part of the EHCNA process for children and young people across Wirral.

Contract Value – £3,068,025 including VAT

• Quality (including 10% Social Value) – 50%

Procurement Information

The procurement will be conducted using the Open Procedure under the Light Touch Regime.

The enquiry deadline is 14 July 2026 at 12:00pm, with an estimated contract award date of 19 August 2026.

The Council has indicated that this is a recurring procurement, with the next tender notice currently expected to be published by 31 August 2028.
