Echocardiography Insourcing

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a provider to supply British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accredited echocardiographers to deliver adult cardiac transthoracic echocardiography services across its sites in Cornwall.

The service will cover both outpatient and inpatient adult cardiac transthoracic echocardiograms. Outpatient services will include full transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) studies performed to current BSE standards using Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust GE Echo machines at Trust locations, including the Bodmin and West Cornwall Hospital Community Diagnostic Centres, as well as other agreed locations.

The successful provider will also be responsible for uploading reports to the Trust’s electronic patient record system (currently Maxims) and distributing reports to the appropriate clinicians, including referrers and GPs. Inpatient services will be delivered at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, using Trust equipment and reporting systems.

The procurement is being undertaken under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
