Ceredigion – Play, Recreation & Childcare for Disabled Children & Young People

Ceredigion County Council is seeking a suitably qualified provider to deliver play, recreation and childcare services for children and young people with disabilities and/or additional needs across the county.

The service is intended to ensure that children and young people can access inclusive play, childcare and recreational opportunities through a range of age-appropriate activities delivered throughout the year.

The commissioned service will include:

• Specialist holiday playschemes for children aged 4 to 12 years.
• Activity days during school holidays for young people aged 12 to 18 years.
• Away weekends for children and young people aged 8 to 18 years.
• Drop-in play sessions.
• Evening activities.

Buyer – Ceredigion County Council

Deadline – 3 August 2026 – 12:00pm

Contract Value – £314,000 excluding VAT (£376,800 including VAT)

Delivery Length – 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2028, with the option to extend for a further 12 months until 31 March 2029.

• Commercial – 20%

• Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
• Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs)

The procurement will be conducted as a below-threshold open competition under the Light Touch Regime in Wales.

This opportunity provides organisations experienced in supporting disabled children and young people with the chance to deliver inclusive play, childcare and recreational services that promote participation, enjoyment and access to community activities across Ceredigion.
