Sheffield City Council is seeking a provider to deliver a Carers’ Support Service across Sheffield under a new contract valued at an estimated £8.085 million excluding VAT.
The Council is procuring the opportunity through an Open Procedure under the Light Touch Regime. Suppliers are required to submit their full tender response at the point of submission, with no opportunity to revise or improve bids after the deadline.
The contract relates to the provision of support services for carers and falls within health and social work service classifications, including social work services without accommodation and welfare services not delivered through residential institutions.
According to the procurement notice, the initial contract term is expected to run from 1 January 2027 until 31 December 2031. The Council has included an option to extend the agreement for a further two years, potentially extending delivery until 31 December 2033.

The opportunity represents a significant commissioning exercise within the carers support sector and offers providers the opportunity to deliver services supporting carers across Sheffield over a potential seven-year period.
