Middlesbrough Council is seeking a provider to deliver Care and Support Services within Extra Care Housing for adults aged 55 and over. The service is intended to support individuals to maximise their independence, maintain their health and wellbeing, and remain living in their own homes for as long as possible.
The contract covers the delivery of home care services within Extra Care Housing schemes, providing support that enables individuals to continue living independently within their own accommodation. The Council states that the service plays an important role in supporting timely hospital discharge while helping to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital or residential and nursing care.
The service forms part of the Council’s wider Adult Social Care strategy, which focuses on promoting independence and supporting people to remain within their communities wherever possible.

Contract Value: £17,800,000 excluding VAT (£21,360,000 including VAT)
Delivery Length: Initial contract from 14 January 2027 to 13 January 2031, with extension options of two periods of 24 months and one further 12-month period, giving a potential maximum contract term to 13 January 2036.
