Care and Support in Extra Care Housing

Leicestershire County Council is seeking providers to deliver Care and Support in Extra Care Housing for adults assessed as requiring care within extra care settings across the county. The service is intended to provide high-quality integrated adult social care and health services that enable people to live independently while receiving flexible, person-centred support as their needs change.

The Council states that extra care housing is designed to help people age in place, supporting independence while helping to prevent avoidable hospital admissions and residential care placements.

The procurement has been divided into two geographical lots covering a number of extra care housing schemes across Leicestershire.

Service Lots

Lot 1 – North: Loughborough / Melton Mowbray

• Connaught House
• Waterside Court
• Gretton Court

Lot 2 – South: Blaby / Lutterworth

• Birch Court
• Oak Court
• St. Mary’s House

Service Details

The successful providers will deliver care and support within extra care housing environments, including:

• Individually tailored, person-centred commissioned care
• Unplanned low-level support
• Physical response services
• Night-time cover
• Integrated health and social care support for eligible residents

The service has been developed to support people living within extra care housing while responding to changing care needs over time.
