North West Leicestershire District Council is seeking a provider to deliver a befriending service for older and vulnerable residents across the district.

The Council has reviewed and developed its approach to supporting residents experiencing loneliness and social isolation, with previous befriending initiatives having been delivered through grant-funded arrangements.

Under the new contract, the Council is seeking a coordinated befriending service that provides personalised, relationship-based support for older and vulnerable adults. The service is intended to help individuals remain independent, maintain social connections and strengthen links with their local communities.

The opportunity is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) with experience in delivering community-based support services.

Service Details

The befriending service will support older and vulnerable residents across North West Leicestershire through personalised engagement aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation.

The Council intends for the service to provide relationship-based support that enables individuals to remain connected to their communities while promoting independence and wellbeing.
