Adult Social Care Extra Care Services Market Engagement

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is undertaking a pre-market engagement exercise to inform the future commissioning of Adult Social Care Extra Care Services at two Extra Care housing schemes within the borough.

The Council is seeking engagement from suppliers to help shape the future delivery of flexible, person-centred care and support services at:

• Fitzwilliam Court, Bethel Street, Hoyland, Barnsley
• Westmeads, Meadstead Drive, Royston, Barnsley

The Extra Care service is designed to enable older people to maintain their independence and continue living in their own homes for as long as possible. Care and support will be tailored through personalised care and support plans, with provision adjusted as individuals’ needs change over time.

The Council states that the service aims to promote independence, wellbeing, dignity, choice, social inclusion and meaningful participation in community life.

A supplier engagement session will take place on Tuesday 11 August 2026 between 2:00pm and 3:00pm.

Organisations wishing to attend must complete and return Appendix 2 via YORtender by 12:00pm on 6 August 2026 to confirm their attendance.
