A local government vision for neighbourhood health and wellbeing

The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking a supplier to work with councils and local partners to develop a whole-system vision for neighbourhood health and wellbeing from a local government and community perspective.

The commission aims to complement the Government’s recently published Neighbourhood Health Framework by setting out the role, priorities and ambitions of local government in delivering integrated neighbourhood health services. The work will help inform national policy while supporting councils and local partners to shape future practice.

Service Overview

The successful provider will work collaboratively with the LGA, councils and partners to produce a vision for neighbourhood health that:

  • Complements the Government’s Neighbourhood Health Framework.
  • Sets out local government’s priorities and ambitions for neighbourhood health and wellbeing.
  • Strengthens the role of councils in supporting integrated health, care, prevention and wellbeing services.
  • Provides a clear local government perspective on neighbourhood working.
  • Supports councils and partners to influence national policy and local delivery.

The final output is expected to articulate how neighbourhood working can operate effectively from both a council and resident perspective.
