Durham County Council has awarded WE CARE BESPOKE LTD a contract to provide a solo overnight respite service for families whose children have autism and/or neuro diversity and cannot access traditional respite services due to the complexity of their needs and presentation.
The contract is worth £1,033,682 excluding VAT and is expected to run for two years, from 28 September 2026 to 27 September 2028.
Durham County Council social workers will identify the need for solo respite and the frequency and duration of support following an assessment of families’ needs. The service will be registered with Ofsted to provide overnight respite for children.
The contract was awarded through a direct award procedure under the light touch regime, with the award decision made on 9 September 2026.
