Newcastle Treatment & Recovery (All Age Drug & Alcohol Addiction) Partnership

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) is seeking a partner organisation to support the delivery of its All Age Drug and Alcohol Addictions Service in Newcastle by providing recovery coordination, psychosocial interventions, recovery support, and peer support.

The successful provider will work alongside the Trust’s service to deliver recovery-focused support for people affected by drug and alcohol addiction across Newcastle. In addition to the core contract, the appointed organisation will be required to deliver services funded through periodic grant funding where this funding remains available.

The Trust has confirmed that while grant funding is expected to continue, the level and frequency of future funding cannot be guaranteed. Where grant-funded roles currently exist, staff employed in these positions may transfer to the successful provider under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (TUPE) Regulations, subject to the usual legal tests.

Service Overview

The successful provider will be responsible for delivering:

  • Recovery coordination
  • Psychosocial interventions
  • Recovery support
  • Peer support

The provider may also be required to deliver additional grant-funded service elements where funding is available throughout the contract period.

Provider Requirements

Providers will be assessed against the selection criteria set out within the procurement documentation relating to:

  • Economic and financial standing
  • Technical and professional ability

The procurement is being undertaken using an accelerated open procedure, with reduced timescales permitted under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Competitive Process.

The opportunity reflects continued investment in recovery-focused drug and alcohol services, supporting coordinated treatment, psychosocial interventions, and peer-led recovery pathways for people of all ages across Newcastle.
