Strengthening Cultural Capability and Trauma Informed Care in Women’s Health

NHS England is inviting tenders for a women’s health training and development programme, with a maximum contract value of £175,000 excluding VAT.

The programme will focus on improving how healthcare professionals listen to women, recognise and respond to procedural pain, and deliver culturally competent, trauma-informed care.

Particular attention will be given to inequalities affecting women from Global Majority communities and the Core20 population.

The successful provider will be responsible for:

• Developing training resources for the women’s health workforce.
• Building sustainable training capacity across all NHS England regions.
• Providing integrated care boards with guidance to support local delivery.
• Incorporating women’s lived experiences and workforce feedback.
• Producing training materials that NHS England can maintain and update.

The opportunity is suitable for SMEs and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs).

NHS England intends to appoint a single provider to deliver the programme.

The contract provides an opportunity for healthcare training organisations and specialists in women’s health, cultural competency and trauma-informed practice to support improvements in NHS care delivery.
