Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council has awarded Advocacy Focus a £119,994.05 contract to deliver its Children’s Rights and Advocacy service.
The service will provide issue-based advocacy support through a referral model, alongside planned residential visits to ensure Tameside cared for children, including those placed outside the borough, are aware of and have access to advocacy.
Advocacy Focus will also deliver the Independent Visitors service, with trained volunteers befriending suitably matched cared for children.
The contract is expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027, with a possible extension to 30 September 2028.
Three tenders were received, with one assessed at the final stage. The award decision was made on 8 September 2026.
