Nuffield Health Set for £310,000 Gynaecology Services Contract

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust intends to award Nuffield Health (The Holly Hospital) a £310,000 contract to provide outsourced gynaecology services.

The service will provide a complete elective gynaecology pathway for approximately 500 patients currently awaiting treatment, helping to reduce waiting lists and improve access to care.

Nuffield Health will manage patients across General Gynaecology, Vulval Disorders and Menopause Services, providing an end-to-end pathway covering consultation, diagnostics, investigations, treatment, clinically required follow-up and discharge.

The proposed contract is expected to run from 3 September 2026 to 31 March 2027.

The award is being made through Provider Selection Regime Direct Award Process C. The Trust states that Nuffield Health is the current incumbent, has delivered the service to a high standard, is fully integrated into the patient care pathway and has demonstrated value for money. It also states that changing provider or mobilisation would cause disruption to patients and impact their treatment.

The award decision was made on 14 August 2026. The contract has not yet formally been awarded, with the notice serving as an intention to award under the Provider Selection Regime and the standstill period stated as closing at 23:59 on 2 September 2026.
