Worcestershire County Council Opens Positive Days Day Services DPS for Providers Across the County

Care providers looking to deliver day services in Worcestershire have an opportunity to join a long-running Dynamic Purchasing System launched by Worcestershire County Council.

The Positive Days – Day Services DPS brings together multiple service areas under one commissioning model and is designed to support people across a range of care and support needs throughout the county.

The opportunity covers services for:

• Older People
• People with Physical Disabilities
• People with Sensory Impairments
• People living with Dementia
• People with Learning Disabilities

According to the Council, the combined approach was shaped through market engagement activity and stakeholder feedback, helping to inform the revised specification, contract structure, and monitoring arrangements.

The Council said the new model reflects both local and national priorities, alongside evidence of good practice within the sector.

Under the DPS, commissioned providers and Council commissioners will work together to deliver services based around three key principles:

• Be well and stay safe
• Be independent and connected
• Be supported

The Positive Days – Day Services DPS became operational on 1 October 2022 and consolidates two previously separate dynamic purchasing systems previously used by the authority for different client groups.

The commissioning approach signals Worcestershire County Council’s continued focus on flexible, community-based day opportunities that promote wellbeing, independence, and connection for people accessing support services across the county.
