UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is seeking a provider to deliver Occupational Health Services for approximately 9,000 employees across the organisation. The procurement aims to establish a single, harmonised occupational health service to replace the current arrangements across UKRI’s councils.

The procurement is being managed by UK Shared Business Services (UK SBS) through the Jaggaer eSourcing Portal using a Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023.

Buyer – UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)

Deadline – 30 July 2026, 4:00pm

Contract Value – Estimated £1,250,000 excluding VAT (£1,500,000 including VAT)

Delivery Length – 11 September 2026 to 11 September 2029, with the option to extend for a further two years to 3 September 2031

Service Overview

The successful provider will deliver a UK-wide occupational health service designed to support approximately 9,000 UKRI employees.

The procurement seeks to establish a single occupational health provision across the organisation, creating a consistent service for staff across UKRI’s various councils.

All tender responses must be submitted electronically through the Jaggaer eSourcing Portal. Bids submitted directly to the buyer or by any other method will not be accepted.

Evaluation Criteria

Tenders will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Technical (Quality) – 80%
  • Commercial (Price) – 20%

The opportunity is identified as being suitable for:

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)

Procurement Information

The procurement is being undertaken using a Competitive Flexible Procedure.

The process comprises two stages:

  • Stage 1 – Submission and evaluation of initial tenders through the Jaggaer eSourcing Portal.
  • Stage 2 – Demonstrations for bidders invited to progress following Stage 1 evaluation.

The contract will be awarded to the bidder submitting the Most Advantageous Tender, in accordance with the evaluation methodology set out within the procurement documentation.
