Northumberland County Council has awarded a contract for the provision of Community Welfare Advice Services to support the council’s vision of closing the inequalities gap, enabling people to live healthy and happy lives for longer.
The service will provide community welfare advice across Northumberland.

The contract has a value of £2.34 million (excluding and including VAT).
The contract is expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2029, with the option to extend until 31 March 2031through two optional 12-month extensions.
The award decision was made on 23 June 2026, with assessment summaries issued to tenderers on 6 July 2026. The earliest anticipated contract signature date is 17 July 2026.
The procurement was carried out through an open procedure under the Light Touch Regime.
A total of two tenders were received and assessed, with both submitted by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The contract will deliver guidance services across Northumberland.
